You've chosen your Wedding Venue...
Congratulations on choosing your wedding venue whether that’s a country house, a rustic barn or a marquee, we have years of experience across many west country venues; including St.Audries Park, Crowcombe Court, Quantock Lakes! We hope the following information will help you with choosing fresh flower designs that will make it extra special and unique to you. Find out how best to add some floral magic to your venue with some artfully chosen floral arrangements to add warmth and personality to your wedding. The Bridal Party Bouquets for Brides and Bridesmaids. Statement Boutonnieres for grooms, simpler buttonholes for Grooms/Brides Men, corsages for Matriarchs, confetti for pages/flowergirls. The Ceremony Ceremony Area – All eyes will be on this area and many a photo taken, if theres a ceremony table adorn the tabletop with a design that can be repurposed as your top table. Alternatively dress the base of the table with a natural design that seems to grow upwards from the floor in front of the ceremony table. If there is no table you will need to create a focal point, this can be meadow style arrangements on the floor, Pedestals or an arch of flowers. These can be moved after the ceremony should you wish to decorate another area of your venue. Aisle – add amore floral oomph with flowers, foliage, petals or candlelight to line the aisle, add miniature posies to the chairs/pews, larger scale designs could be repurposed for tables. If there are architectural elements, such as pillars, it may be possible to add florals here too. Confetti - We offer loose fresh flower petal confetti or those all-important ‘just married’ confetti shots! It perfectly matches your theme, it’s great value, photographs well and is biodegradable. Reception The table flowers - here is where we suggest you concentrate some of your budget, the floral focus for your guests during the wedding reception are the flowers right in front of them. If your venue has high ceilings and lots of space tall, striking arrangements may be the best option and if your venue has a more intimate feel low designs may work best. Often a mix of both works well with the drama of a tall design adding impact to the room and the lower design bringing colour down onto the table The top table - can be embellished with the design from the ceremony table or an alternative style to match your tables, especially if opting for a round or sweetheart table. Extra Area’s These will really vary depending which type of venue you have chosen. But the architecture and layout of your wedding venue will give clues of where to concentrate your florals. Country Houses often have… A statement staircase – an absolute must if budget allows is to adorn the stairs with flowers, foliage or both. So many photographs are taken here, the bride and her father on the way to the wedding, her bridesmaids attending. The happy couple freshly married, the wedding party shots, the family shots, the throwing of the bouquet shots. Adding blooms makes those photographs even more special! Mantelpieces – One of our favourite places to adorn with flowers, they looks fabulous with a central design or a floral arrangement either side and a scattering of candlelight. These flowers will feature in many of your photographer’s ceremony shots adding warmth and character to your wedding photographs. Bar’s and Coffee Tables Marquees often have… Large blank sides and high ceilings, large floral installations work best here. A statement hanging design, pedestal arrangements or embellishments on the poles. Tall tables designs add visual drama across the marquee, although you’ll need a fairly even floor. Rustic/Low key Venues This type of venue suits a more informal style of floral décor. Again there may be high ceilings and blank wooden/stone walls so tall table designs work well, or a mixture of tall and short. If it’s a lower more intimate style setting, lower florals and candelight are the perfect additions. Quite often there will be a rustic statement piece such as cartwheels or wooden beams which when embellished with florals will add so much impact. Outdoor Ceremony’s… Gazebo – Dress either side with a broken arch style design in flowers/foliages, add an arrangement to the ceremony table. Adorn above the entrance with a swathe of flowers/foliage. Aisle – posies to chairs works well outside as does some larger scale floral arrangements along the aisle.
